Dave Magadan

After a stellar season at the University of Alabama in 1983, Dave was selected by the New York Mets as the 32nd overall pick in the 1983 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in September of 1986. During his MLB career, which spanned from 1986 to 2001, he played for the New York Mets, Florida Marlins, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics and the San Diego Padres. In 2002, he was hired by the San Diego Padres to be their minor league hitting instructor and served as their major league batting coach from 2003 to 2006. In 2006 he was named the hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox, and held that position from 2007-2012. In 2013, Dave was named the hitting coach for the Texas Rangers and currently holds that position. Career Highlights: 2 time World Series Champion, 1983 Golden Spikes Award winner.
