Jody Reed

Jody is a former Major League Baseball second baseman who had an 11 year career with the Boston Red Sox (1987-1992), Los Angeles Dodgers (1993), Milwaukee Brewers (1994), San Diego Padres (1995-1996), and the Detroit Tigers (1997). He played in 1248 major league games and had a .270 career batting average. Prior to being selected in the 8th round of the 1984 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox, Jody played college ball at Manatee Community College and Florida State University. He made his major league debut in 1987 and became the Red Sox starting shortstop in 1988. He finished 3rd in the Rookie of the Year voting in 1988 after hitting .293. In 1989 he switched from the shortstop position to second base.
